The chord builder is a very smart tool you can pick out just about any way to take a chord.
You can make a different scales by clicking in the scale table. If you limit the scale, you can use it for exercising solo playing. Limiting a G-major to starting from 2.nd fret will give you the opportunity to make an easy practice scale for G-major.
On the piture the scale is selected and limited to starting from 2nd fret. This gives a very nice scale for practicing improvidsation in G-major. Try other combinations of scale, key and limiting fret.
You can pick just about any chord, by clicking in the chord table you will get all possible notes for that chord for that key. Clicking on the rings will move them over to the builder area. Make sure you have selected right finger before moving over. Note that you may build bar chords also with the bar make tool.
Alternatively you can select one of the many premade chords. It is good to learn alternative chords, since that will make it easier to play when you don't have to move so far up and down between the chord shifts.
